From a handshake at a Berlin qualifier in 2021 to timing world championships: the events that built Symax, top to bottom.

BERLIN, GERMANY
A race and a handshake
Max van Eijndhoven lines up as an athlete at the Pump Track World Championship qualifier in Berlin. He rolls away with something better than a result: an introduction to Sydney Webster.
2021
LISBON, PORTUGAL
Course set at the Worlds
At the World Final under Lisbon's Vasco da Gama bridge, Max and Sydney decide pumptrack deserves better software, and set course to build it themselves. The name is there before the first line of code: Phoenix. The universal symbol of rebirth, transformation and resilience.
2021
PONTE BUGGIANESE, ITALY
Phoenix times its first race
Development starts in March 2022: a first base that can time and score a pumptrack race. Two months later it runs a Worlds qualifier in Tuscany for real. Phoenix Timing & Scoring is born.
2022
ÅRE, SWEDEN
North to Åre
The summer qualifier at Åre Bike Park brings a meeting with Johan Lindström, and with him Scandinavia enters the story for good.
2022
SANTIAGO, CHILE
The turning point
For the World Final at Santa Fe Bike Park we build Phoenix Graphics and run the whole show, timing and broadcast graphics, on the Phoenix stack. The moment our idea became a reality.
2022
9 MARCH 2023
Symax is born
Symax is officially established: the start of production-grade timing and event software. Pumptrack events around the world run on Phoenix that season, with Velosolutions as our closest partner in bringing new software to athletes.
2023
AREA 47, AUSTRIA
Worlds go indoors
The first indoor Pump Track World Championships take place inside the Area 47 hall in Ötztal, timed and broadcast with Phoenix while the rainbow jerseys are decided under a roof for the first time.
2023
ONTO THE ROAD
Road cycling joins
Phoenix times its first road race. A peloton is not a pumptrack, with hours instead of seconds and laps instead of runs, but the heart of it is the same: a rider crosses a line, and the world should know instantly. Phoenix is ready.
2024
DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA
Rainbow stripes in KwaMashu
The World Final in Durban's KwaMashu township, timed with Phoenix Timing & Scoring. A world title decided by hundredths, and a week in South Africa we still talk about: no crowd has ever carried a final like KwaMashu did.
2024
YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA
2,350 riders, one system
Tour of Kemala is one of Indonesia's biggest road races, and with 2,350 athletes on course at the same time, one of the biggest ever timed with MyLaps active transponders. Our road cycling timing has properly arrived.
2025
MONTHEY, SWITZERLAND
Alongside Tissot & Swiss Timing
A first-ever collaboration with Tissot and Swiss Timing at the Pump Track World Championships. Phoenix delivers flawless live graphics, fully styled in the UCI themes, to screens all across the world: an experience the sport hadn't seen before.
2025
EVENTS & ATHLETES
RaceHub arrives
Our platform for athletes, events, registrations and results makes its grand entrée in the winter of 2026; by March, an entire event can be followed live from any phone on the planet. Today RaceHub is the #1 pumptrack registration and event tool, endorsed by Velosolutions, Velosolutions Scandinavia, Moto-Sheets, DS Ergebnisdienst, Liv-up Events and more.
